meh, they could have done way better on this album, in my opinion. i feel like what they did was change their sound into more poppy, and less aggressive, less electronic beat-driven, less (intense) rapping from sean foreman. it seems like what they did could have come from any other pop group and didn’t have that distinct 3oh!3 flavor that we’re all used to–the heavy, vulgar raps on top of electronic beats and fast choruses. the song that comes close to what they used to be is #2: “i can do anything”. 3/5 stars for me

I love 3Oh!3 but i can’t stand this new sound that they have come up with. It seems that they have made their music more comercial and less electronic and rap. I loved their old songs but i feal disapointed in what they ave created now.

This is defiantly a more mature sound than their last album. Sean Foreman and Nathaniel Motte have abandoned the nasal white-boy rap from Want and appear to have taken singing lessons. None of the songs retain the party feel of the last album, instead opting for a synthesizer based pop-punk feel. The low points of the album are the vomit inducing “My First Kiss” & the low tempo and generally boring “House Party”. Some of the highpoints are the sorrow filled brake up ballad “R.I.P.”, “I’m Not the One” about a girl with trust issues, the surprisingly well song and produced “Streets of Gold”, and the addictive “Touchin On My”. The remainder of the album is less than remarkable, but a far cry from terrible. Rolling Stone said of the album, “…Streets of Gold is about as pleasant as a case of genital herpes.” The only smudge of accuracy to this ill conceived piece of wit from Rolling Stone’s Jody Rosen is that this album will grow on you.

I think tht 3 oh!3 have had to tone down their musical style, to maybe get more fans or air time, it’s prob not their choice, it might be the management… however this doesn’t change the fact tht even though i still like “Streets of Gold” it’s not as good as “Want”.

i dont usually listen to this type of music, the album is really good i didnt like the album when i first listened to it but since then i now listen to it a least 5 times a day the songs are easy to listen to and are really catchy, i love this album and would recommond it to other people.

There are some good songs on the album. I really like R.I.P and House Party, which to me seems sort of close to their original sound. But, when my sister and i were listening to it and after she heard the whole album, she gave me the cd and said “3OH!3 has gone down-hill.” I can’t say I really disagree. I really loved the sound and the style they had on their other two albums, so I was disappointed to not find either on the album. ‘Streets Of Gold’ is definitely not at all as good as ‘Want’ or ‘High Voltage’ were, but I still think it’s okay enough to recommend to people who like hip-hop/pop, electronica, or both, as well as to people that loved their old sound; as long as they are forewarned about the difference. They have almost completely abandoned the electronica and adapted instead to hip-hop/pop. Makes me sad to see them changing this way.
