“Afterlife” is a single by the American heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold.
The song is the fourth on their self-titled album and it features string instruments like violins and double basses in the intro and post the second chorus.
The music video is directed by Wayne Isham who have shot videos for bands like Metallica, Judas Priest and Motley Crue.

The song is about a man that dies and arrives in heaven “too early”. He asks God if he can go back to be with his loved ones until “the time is right”.

i love this song. i can’t believe my favorite band had came up with it. i thought avenged sevenfold did nothing but hard-core song. then this song came out and i liked it. people that never like a7x before now like them.

i love this song also. I first heard beast and the harlot and was led
onto this song. I do not like heavy metal that much or hard rock but this song is great. i never minded a7x but now i love them. :)

-sigh- It just goes to show that Avenged Sevenfold is no doubt, an incredibly talented band. Although I deeply and greatly cherish every song they’ve created, I agree that this has got to be a really wonderful one! I love how versatile they are! I think one of the many things I admire them for is not giving a damn about what close-minded faggots and idiots think/say about them, you know? It’s unbelievable how stupid people can be! I hate it!! Anyways… Geeze, ass faces… I’m beyond proud to state that I have been loving and supporting the boys in every thing they do, every choice they make, (yes, even Matt and Zack’s grills. hehe.) since the first album. Apart from dozens of people, I will continue to do my part of that for all eternity.
Can I get a “Whoop! Whoop!” ?! ;]
