Halo is the fourth single by R&B singer Beyonce Knowles from her third solo studio album, titled, I Am… Sasha Fierce, which was released on November 12, 2008.
The song is written by Ryan Tedder and was originally offered to Leona Lewis, but was given to Knowles because Lewis did not have the time to record it.
The video for the song will be directed by Philip Andelman, who also directed “Comeback” and “Work” videos for Kelly Rowland.
The song was released on December 23, 2008 along with “Diva“.

It premiered exclusively on iTunes on December 22, simultaneously with the music video for “Diva” and it features actor Michael Ealy as Knowles’ love interest.

This song is really awesome. My girlfriend of 5 years broke up with me a week ago. I’m pretty down, so this really got me. Her status on messenger has actually has the quote” gravity cant even begin to pull me back to the ground again”. Not too sure what it means but its weird that I was actually listening to this song as I read it.
