David Archuleta Album Review

David Archuleta is the self-titled debut album of American Idol season 7 runner-up David Archuleta. It was released on November 2008, via Jive Records.
This album includes a sequence of Pop tracks from the industry’s most talented writers and producers.

His voice sounds incredible is so touching and absolutely wonderful, and the fact that he brings his talent in and co-writes some of these makes it even more phenomenal.
If for some reason he didn’t impress you on American Idol listen to him now! This is a fantastic pop album, we highly recommend it.

Overall this is an excellent first effort and we are looking forward to hearing more from him in the future.

I totally agree with you in regards to David’s album. I absolutely love it. Honestly there isn’t a song that I dislike. His smoky, breathy voice just grabs you from the very first note and sounds gorgeous even on the more uptempo songs. The slow songs really showcase THE VOICE. A wonderful first effort for David. His bonus songs from Itunes and Walmart are pretty incredible too and he has writing credits on several of the songs. I’m personally loving Works for Me (walmart edition) Barriers, Desperate and Somebody Out There.(can no longer get this song from Itunes which is a shame)

What an album!! His voice is incredible and all the songs on the CD are wonderful. The song “Angel” touches me so that I get tears in my eyes every time I listen to “it. I didn’t realize there was a WalMart edition with more songs on it–I will be going to Walmart and buying it as well. I can’t get enough of David!! Everyone needs to hear this CD. They would be doing themselves a favor.

Seriously, everyone needs to get a copy of his album…an album like this combined with a beautiful voice like his does not come very often…DA is probably one of the most natural talent that we have seen in a long long time…talent like this probably comes along every decade or so…He can sing the PHONEBOOK!!!

I wish Crush could have included in your favorite artist and their video poll of 2008. Crush is platinum now and Crush video has been #1 on VH1 4 out of the last 5 weeks. It was #2 the other week. Also Crush named #8 pop song of 2008 by AOL. Is it too late to add it? Thanks for your thoughtful and positive review of David’s album. They announced tonight that ALTNOY will be second single from album.

I love David Archuleta’s album. It has so many different styles of pop, pop/rock, and AC and it really show his versatility. My personal faves are My Hands (super syncopation and I love the stopping time story), Barriers (reggae groove and shouting choruses that should be fun in concert), A Little Too Not Over You (new choice for 2nd single with a relatable story and a syncopated 6/8 beat), Running (great song with some crazy lyrics and vocal leaps), To Be With You (gorgeous ballad duet with new 4th Idol judge Kara DioGuardi), Desperate (jaw-droppingly dark and amazing), and Your Eyes Don’t Lie (r&b groove with super catchy AC choruses). In the bonus tracks my faves are Falling (haunting ballad written by David at age 14) and Waiting for Yesterday (super catchy and a great story). Super album!
