‘Angels‘ is a song written by Robbie Williams and Guy Chambers, originally performed by Williams, and covered by American Idol season 7 runner-up David Archuleta.
The song is included on David Archleta’s self-titled debut album and was released as a digital download when the album became available for pre-ordering on iTunes on October 27, 2008. It has since then debuted at #89 on the Billboard Hot 100 even though it wasn’t sent to radio or officially released or promoted.
On 12 April, 2008 the song was at #1 on the U.S. iTunes primarily due to the performance of the song by David Archuleta on American Idol earlier that week. After an 8 year absence on the chart, “Angels” re entered the ARIA Top 100 at 91, on May 5 2008.
