Eliza Doolittle - Pack Up Lyrics
I get tired and upset
And I’m trying to care a little less
When I google I only get depressed
I was taught to dodge those issues I was told
Don’t worry
Cos no doubt there’s always something to cry about
And when your stuck in an angry crowd
They don’t think what they say before they open their mouth
You gotta
Pack Up your troubles in your old kit bag and bury them beneath the sea
I don’t care what the people may say what the people may say about me
Pack Up your troubles get your old grin back don’t worry bout the cavalry
I don’t care what the whisperers say cos they whisper too loud for me
Hot topic
Maybe I should drop it
It’s a touchy subject
And I like to tiptoe round the ship going down
You got pennies but no pounds
So if your business is running out
It’s not business to talk about
But they don’t think what they say before they open their mouth
You gotta
Pack Up your troubles in your old kit bag and bury them beneath the sea
I don’t care what the people may say what the people may say about me
Pack Up your troubles get your old grin back don’t worry bout the cavalry
I don’t care what the whisperers say cos they whisper too loud for me

Lyrics are wrong
“It’s a touching subject and i like to tip toe around the shit going down”
NOT
“it’s a touch in subject,
and i like to tiptoe round the ship gone down”
that doesn’t even make sense!!!!!

This is what I hear:
“When I Google I only get depressed…”
“Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag and bury them beneath the sea…”
“…don’t worry bout the cavalry”
“it’s a touchy subject”

I hear the same as ‘bean…
It’s definitely ‘pack up your troubles in your old kit bag and bury them beneath the sea’
and it’s definitely ‘don’t worry bout the cavalry’…. Not ‘don’t worry bout the carvary’…. It’s not a song about pub sunday lunches lol….
And it’s definitely ‘it’s a touchy subject’
….. Peace.

It is “don’t worry about the calvary” and it is definitely NOT ” I like to tiptoe the shit going down” it’s ” I like to tiptoe round the ship gone down”.
~peace out~

yeah its definately pack up your troubles in your old kit bag. Thats what it is in the WW1 version as well. and it is bury them beneath the sea, not carry them to see the sea. why would you want to carry your troubles to see the sea :s

It’s calvary (as in place of crucifixion) not “cavalry” (as in blokes on horses).

Does anyone know who sings the sample of “pack up your troubles in your old kit bag and bury them beneath the sea”?
I know the song, and old WWI marching tune, but I just wanted to see if there is a version that she specificly sampled, unless she just made it in the studio herself..? pdxvolklman@yahoo.com
