“Wait for You” is a Top 20 hit song by former American Idol contestant Elliott Yamin. It is the first official single from his self-titled album Elliott Yamin (following the radio-only promotional hit “Movin’ On”).
“Wait for You” is a slow tempo ballad composed in A minor. The piano riff is similar to Natalie’s “Going Crazy” and S Club 7’s “Never Had A Dream Come True”. He mentions in the song waiting indefinitely for the one he loves to come back to him. Despite the fact she has left him, he insists he knows she still loves him.

The music video for the song shows Yamin in a variety of locations reminiscing about his girlfriend who has left him. The video shows Yamin on the beach, in his bedroom, and simply walking on a sidewalk picturing his ex-girlfriend’s smiling face, and pleading for her to come back, just like in the lyrics of the song. The video features a recurring close up face shot of Yamin, in a black and white tone. Yamin is also shown in the studio recording the song throughout the video. In the end, his ex-girlfriend finally approaches him on the beach.
The video debuted at number one on VH1’s VSpot Top 20 Countdown, and was number one for four consecutive weeks until 7/28/07 in which it went down to #2 with Hey There Delilah by Plain White T’s but the following week it returned to number one.

This is such a GREAT song. I can feel so much emotion in this song. I just love listening to this song and definitely I’ll be getting his ALBUM.
He may not won the American Idol title but for me…. Elliot Yamin is the REAL winner.

An unbelievably great song, I can’t believe he only placed third, what did the other 2 do to get past Elliott? Anyway, the video is all right, it could’ve been hotter or more sensual but I think it’s ok as his first video ever.

this the sammy person who was talking about matt corby.Ill keep this short and sweet.
i apolize for what i did last night i had absolutely no right to do that and i was way out of hand. My mum found out i was writing on this site and she full on yelled at me which i deserved it coz i had no right to do that. my mum said i should apolize which i am right now. i just had a bit too much to drink last night as i was celebrating that matt corby went through and i heard dis song on the radio and thats how i ended up coming to dis site. what was even worse that i was pretending to be someone else(alex, amy and whatever) and there is no reason and exuses for why i did it.so while im writing this letter and bowing my head in shame i would promise you that it will never happen again coz i agree, i was being a total jerk and i dont know what went to me.

Kept hearing this song at the gym and didn’t realize it was Elliot Yamin because they don’t give the artist’s name after the song, and don’t listen to much radio. Thought he was a great talent on American Idol and after listening to this song and going through the lyrics, it is perfect for the way I feel about the love of my life who just ended things with me. It is the perfect song and nails everything perfectly, word for word. Have to cut my workouts short, because you don’t want to cry in the gym, ya know. LOL Dedicate this song to the girl I waited all my life for and will never stop being in love with, MLM.
