Just before KANYE’S second verse, Estelle says -
“Tell ‘em wagwaan blood” (wagaan (spelling varies), pronounced with 2 hard ‘a’ sounds, i.e. would rhyme with far barn) is slang from Jamaican meaning ‘what is going on’, blood is a varient of brother, so ‘tell ‘em what’s going on brother’, like ‘tell ‘em what’s up’. The word wagwaan is also widely used as a question, like ‘what’s up?’
And there’s something about Gladys Knight and the Pips in there, can’t quite hear it…

I’m 55 years of age and have not really warmed up to this type of music, but this song has converted me. Even the video is awesome - nice dancing but not the usual extensive gyrating of hips.
One thing still bothers me…I still don’t think Kanye has to say “…the press won’t f**k with me” in the lyrics…does that really make it any more effective? Couldn’t it have been just as easily “press won’t mess with me”? Too bad that cancerous mindset still permeates so much of this type of music.
