Why Don’t You is a single by Gramophonedzie, a musical project by Serbian DJ Marko Milicevic (aka Marko Hollywood).
The dance track samples a 1942 Peggy Lee song called “Why Don’t You Do Right?”. In 2009, the original song was given a house treatment by Gramophonedzie as “Why Don’t You”, off his EP Swingin’ With The Fishes. It was released to download on February 28, 2010 in the UK. The single got Gramophonedzie signed with Virgin/Positiva records.
On the 7th March 2010, “Why Don’t You” debuted at #100 on the Australian Aria Charts, and at #12 in the United Kingdom.
