The music video to “Goodbye Mr A” is reminiscent of superhero comic books and popular culture, such as the 1960s Batman TV series. In the video, the band kidnaps the world’s greatest hero, Mr. A, a 1960s-esque comic character, and take his place fighting crime as incompetent anti-heroes.
The song was released on 8 October, its video having debuted on 2 September on Channel 4.
The song entered the UK Singles Chart at #5 on Sunday 14 October 2007 and it climbed to #4 the following week . On Sunday 30 December 2007, it rose up the chart from #29 to #10.
The song has been noted for its similarities to the Electric Light Orchestra single, Mr. Blue Sky. “Goodbye Mr A” is the title track to the video game FIFA 08.

Im pretty sure that these lyrics were written by somebody who was molested as a child by their maths teacher. Lots of “love” involved in the lyrics and suggestive sentences:

I think it’s about someone, a teacher or what not, who was to practical to live up to the “love is all you need” kind of live. Very cold, very scientific, know what I mean?
