Battlefield is the lead single by American R&B/pop singer-songwriter Jordin Sparks, from her second studio album, “Battlefield”, which is due July 21, 2009. She unveiled the single live on American Idol on May 13, 2009.
The song was written and produced by Grammy nominated producer/songwriter and OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder. Wayne Wilkins, Louis Biancaniello and Sam Watters also co-wrote the song.
Philip Andelman was booked to shoot the music video in Los Angeles before the single was perfomed live on American Idol. The video premiered in the United Kingdom on June 11, 2009 and has since been on heavy rotation on several music channels.
The song peaked at #32 on U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and at #21 on UK Singles Chart.
