Kings of Leon - Only by the Night Album Review
‘Only by the Night‘ is the fourth album by Kings of Leon, it was released through Columbia Records on September 19, 2008 in the Republic of Ireland and UK and on September 23, 2008 in the US.
The fourth album from the Followill brothers finds them re-connecting with their Southern roots.
Although this is the Kings Of Leon’s heaviest to date, fans won’t find it to be a huge departure from the band’s already impressive back catalogue.
The songs are amazing, the production is sublime, the musicianship is awesome, the album is brilliantly crafted, but it ain’t the Kings of Leon we all have come to know. Yes it’s different to ‘Youth and Young Manhood’, ‘Aha Shake Heartbreak’ and ‘Because of the Times’ but it’s a great album !

Three tracks from the album have been debuted live, “Crawl”, “Sex on Fire” and “Manhattan”.
Caleb Followill claims that pain relieving drugs, which he took following a fight with his brother Nathan (drummer of the band), greatly enhanced his lyrics. Caleb is quoted as saying the medication caused him to write “the best songs of his career”. An example of experimentation is evident in the opening track “Closer”, which contains lyrical content pertaining to the life of a vampire.

Hello. I was under the impression that the vinyl release of the KOL’s OBTN LP was going to have the UK artwork (green eagle and band members faces mixed) on it? Unfortunately so far I have only been able to purchase the white rooster US cover artwork version. Will there be a UK only cover artwork release a tall?? Thanks, Jim.
