Leona Lewis Signed Autobiography Deal

According to Press Association, Leona Lewis who won talent TV show The X Factor in 2006 and topped charts around the world with her debut album “Spirit,” has signed a deal for an autobiographical book with the publishing house Hodder & Stoughton.

Hodder & Stoughton acquired world rights, for an undisclosed figure, and, according to Reuters, the publisher said on Monday that the book, which will include more than 100 new photographs, would hit the shelves in October, shortly before the scheduled release of Lewis’ second album. The photographs for the autobiography would be taken by Dean Freeman, who also worked on the publisher’s collaboration with soccer star David Beckham for the worldwide best-seller My World by David Beckham.

“The last two years have been an unbelievable experience for me,” said the 23-year-old Leona. . “So to have it documented in pictures and to be able to tell people in my own words how it feels means a lot to me. I know the book will be full of special moments and I’m already having a brilliant time putting it together.”
Once a waitress in a pizza restaurant, Leona Lewis, is now considered a full fledged superstar. From humble Hackney beginnings, the X Factor winner’s debut album Spirit sold more than five million copies around the world since its release in 2007. In fact, it is the first debut album by a British artist that entered at number one on America’s Billboard top 200 charts. Then, her single Bleeding Love was iTunes’ biggest track of 2008 with more than four million downloads, and her latest single Run ended her year with yet another number one hit.
Moreover, she was the first British female singer to top the US singles chart in more than 21 years, and the first British female artist in history to score both a US number one album and single in the same week. Besides, Leona even had the opportunity to perform with legendary guitarist Jimmy Page during the closing ceremonies of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be working with a global superstar like Leona. This will be the first time Leona tells her story of how the X-Factor launched her from waitressing in Pizza Hut in Hackney to stardom on both sides of the Atlantic,” said Hodder editor Fenella Bates.
