MGMT - Kids Lyrics

You were a child
Crawling on your knees toward it
Making momma so proud,
But your voice is too loud

We like to watch you laughing,
You pick the insects off plants
No time to think of consequences

[Chorus:]
Control yourself
Take only what you need from it
A family of trees wanted
To be haunted

[Repeat chorus]

The water is warm
But it’s sending me shivers
A baby is born
Crying out for attention

The memories fade
Like looking through a fogged mirror
Decision to decisions are made
And not bought,
But I thought this wouldn’t hurt a lot.
I guess not

[Chorus x2]

  1. mike Says:

what do you think he means by a family of trees wanted to be haunted?

Dunno Mike but I have a question as well: MGMT are made of two guys. So is that a man and woman with painted faces singing? I’m convinced that the tiger striped painted face is the lead singer but my girlfriend thinks the white faced individual is the other band member and I think it’s a chic! Anyone know?
