This song is amazing, great voice and I love the piano, great guitar solo too!
Starlight starts well. The intro is operatic and laced with the slightest hint of a haunting melody. There’s a grungy feel to the undercurrent of the record- an earthy sound to the guitars and the musical accompaniment. The vocals would give James Blunt a run for his money in the “watch me shatter glass with my voice” stakes but the worst thing about this record is that Muse repeat the words “black holes and revelations” over and over again. An album can have its fair share of “filler” but there’s no place for “filler” in a song and somebody really should have put a bit more thought into the lyrics. To me- and this is just my humble opinion- Starlight sounds like lift music. Muse have released several albums with, as far as I can gather, pretty much the same song on each, repeated over and over again. Starlight says nothing new and offers us nothing new. Disagree? Fine. Buy the album, listen and enjoy. Prove me wrong. Serve the beauty of music. But for me, this song is just about as exciting as loft insulation. souce ukmusic.com
