“If Today Was Your Last Day” is the second single by rock band Nickelback from their sixth studio album Dark Horse. The song was the originally planned lead single but was scrapped at the last minute.
It was produced by famed rock producer Mutt Lange, who produced the entire album.
On November 11, iTunes made the song available as a single download, where it has climbed to #11 so far on the top selling songs.
The music video was shot with director Nigel Dick in March 2009. Performance portions of the video were shot at the Qwest Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

just had to find lyrics to this song; believe it or not I’m a 50+ parent and absolutely love this! I’ve put this as my song for myspace, and have dedicated it to my children. This song has such an incredible message. I abousolutly adore it. It makes you think. Man. I should be living. Because I could die any second. It makes you, think why shouldn’t I do this! Its an amazing song. Genius. I’ve never found a song with such meaning. Most songs have there meaning, but this song, leaves you thinking after. Amazing. I Love The Song, The Band. Its wow. I’ve heard it so many times. Its simply amazing.

i love this song and it has a great lyric. But it would be much better if nickelback wasnt a piece of crap corporate sell out band. The song is great but it could have a more unique sound if it wasnt by nickel . Lke if the red jumpsuit apparatus or maybe papa roach sang it, it would be bigger than it already is.

I’m looking at this song as a way people should truly live thier lives. It sounds to far away to be true, but in my mind I see it clear as day in fact my goal is to take this meaning not only from the song or my church, but to start tommorow as if it’s a journey that means my whole life everyday… this is the impact it has left on me…..

i love this song. it’s so true. after losing a good friend of mine to cancer, and her living by ‘live, laugh, love’ it really opens my eyes to everything. this is also the song we played as we walked into my cousins funeral. my cousin was murdered in front of her 14 year old son. so it really means alot. she seemed almost bipolar, but she was always so fun and loving when you were with her and she was willing to participate.

Last February, overwhelmed by so many being unemployed, I started emailing job leads to a list of 200. Every week sense then, I’ve continued to so, only now that list is 500. I was laid off in April. On my last day, May 1, I emailed this song to friends and colleagues with a note to keep in touch. No, I have not found a job-am trying to start a business, which includes getting people back to work. How would I go about getting permission to re-create the kind of celebration that you (Nickelback) demonstrated on this music video? I’m sure I could get everything donated, except the bag of money and the band lol…whose permission would I need? Thanks for this song, it daily inspires me.
