Pink - Dear Mr President Video and Lyrics
Dear Mr President by Pink , Music Video and Lyrics
Pink said that the song is an open letter to the President of the United States, George W. Bush, and that it is one of the most important songs she had written.
The “Dear Mr. President” music video is a live video, but it differs from the “Leave Me Alone (I’m Lonely)” video in that it includes the live vocal.
It is from the performance of the song during Pink’s I’m Not Dead Tour in London at Wembley Arena.
The performance was featured on the tour DVD Pink: Live from Wembley Arena.
You can listen the song here.
Pink - Dear Mr President Lyrics
Dear Mr. President,
Come take a walk with me.
Let’s pretend we’re just two people and
You’re not better than me.
I’d like to ask you some questions if we can speak honestly.
What do you feel when you see all the homeless on the street?
Who do you pray for at night before you go to sleep?
What do you feel when you look in the mirror?
Are you proud?
How do you sleep while the rest of us cry?
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye?
How do you walk with your head held high?
Can you even look me in the eye
And tell me why?
Dear Mr. President,
Were you a lonely boy?
Are you a lonely boy?
Are you a lonely boy?
How can you say
No child is left behind?
We’re not dumb and we’re not blind.
They’re all sitting in your cells
While you pave the road to hell.
What kind of father would take his own daughter’s rights away?
And what kind of father might hate his own daughter if she were gay?
I can only imagine what the first lady has to say
You’ve come a long way from whiskey and cocaine.
How do you sleep while the rest of us cry?
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye?
How do you walk with your head held high?
Can you even look me in the eye?
Let me tell you ’bout hard work
Minimum wage with a baby on the way
Let me tell you ’bout hard work
Rebuilding your house after the bombs took them away
Let me tell you ’bout hard work
Building a bed out of a cardboard box
Let me tell you ’bout hard work
Hard work
Hard work
You don’t know nothing ’bout hard work
Hard work
Hard work
Oh
How do you sleep at night?
How do you walk with your head held high?
Dear Mr. President,
You’d never take a walk with me.
Would you?

i love this song i think its probably the greatest politial song of this generation and it goes so much further than george bush. it goes to all the paid politicians both democratic an republican who only care about lining their pockets instead caring about the american people. this song is soooooooo true and i commend her for taking a stand publicaly and not just sitting back. she’s making her fame stand for something and broadcasts wat so many of us want to say but just dont have the influence. this song is the greatest political stand in this generation

i just got 2 say that this is the best song ever written by pink.she is my inspiration.during the song when she said “how could you say no child left behind”i was like “i know how could he say that”.when he said no child left behind does not mean that every single child is well taken care of cause think about it,there r still children left on the streets with their parent’s.i just wanted 2 remind pink that this is the best song ever.i wanted 2 tell her and all of you that i thought that she really sang this song from her heart.hope she write’s more like this one.see ya
