Simple Plan - Simple Plan Album Review
“Simple Plan” is the third studio album by the Canadian band Simple Plan, released on February 12, 2008.
Some good songs on this album but doesn’t compare to other albums, it’s not that good, I think their other albums are a lot better.
Marking a departure for the band from their familiar sound, this release sees them slowing down the tempo, flirting with hip-hop and RnB styles and working with an eclectic string of producers including Timbaland protege Nate “Danja” Hills (Duran Duran), Swedish pop supremo Max Martin (Kelly Clarkson) and metal guru Dave Fortman (Mudvayne). Includes the single ‘When I’m Gone’.

“Simple Plan” Track Listing
1. “When I’m Gone” - 3:49
2. “Take My Hand” - 3:51
3. “The End” - 3:22
4. “Your Love Is a Lie” - 3:42
5. “Save You” - 3:45
6. “Generation” - 3:02
7. “Time to Say Goodbye” - 2:56
8. “I Can Wait Forever” - 4:54
9. “Holding On” - 5:03
10. “No Love” - 3:15
11. “What If” - 5:54
Most of the songs on this album are good while a few are your classic punk rock band trying to do something different.
But all around Simple Plan is keeping their old fans happy and creating new ones.
Simple Plan Editorial Review from amazon.com
Simple Plan’s third CD strikes to the swollen heart of emo, and maybe even pierces it a little. Compared with the band’s first two albums, this eponymous one leans a shade more sedate, a bit less manic. Which is not to suggest that the boys don’t bring it on this boringly titled 11-tracker. Trademark huge choruses crest in “Hold On” and “When I’m Gone,” both of which edge toward the pure pop heart of the pop-punk divide. “I Can Wait Forever,” a power ballad, makes you wonder whether the whiny-voiced front man Pierre Bouvier might have a few more genuinely reflective songs in him. Familiar themes bubble to the surface throughout: “Your Love Is a Lie” and “No Love” say everything about the band’s commitment to upholding emo’s core of self-pity and general despair. But it’s not as if you’ll be able to sit still and whine along as the songs roll on. Simple Plan’s plan–to get you bouncing, bobbing, and otherwise grooving–is still simple. And like all uncomplicated strategies, it’s still remarkably effective.
