The song is taken from the trio’s debut self-titled EP, “The Band Perry”, which was released on April 6, 2010 via Republic Nashville Records, a division of UMG Recordings, Inc. The song was released on June 7, 2010 and it debuted at #57 on the chart for the week of May 29, 2010.
Merging country, pop, and rock elements into a sharp contemporary sound, the Band Perry are comprised of siblings Kimberly Perry (lead vocals, guitar, and piano), Reid Perry (bass guitar), and Neil Perry (drums, mandolin, and accordion).

I almost lost my now wife to the grave when we were teens, now we have two beautifull children a seven year old boyand a six year old girl. This song is a reminder of how important it is to listen to their feelings and enjoy every smile I have a chance to glance. All three of them I have given to the lord but the lord put me in their lives to guide and protect. I would rather say prayers with them every nite and tuck them in than send prayers up to any one of them and sleep alone wondering why i didnt listen and give loving guidence.

the band perry sounds so pure and honest, if i die young makes u think of what u wuld want if u happened to die young. the video in paticular is one of the sweetest videos ive personally ever watched. c yall at the cma’s guys!

The first time this song, I thought of my wife. She is very ill and only 33, september 7, 1997, we met, and the rest is history. She is in the hospital now fighting for her life. The Ironic thing is that she has not heard this song, but she gives me instuctions and say that maybe her family will finally listed if she goes.

This is a great reminder that if you die young, you could lose so many loved things.This is just a great song, and you can’t do much if you die young.Just make sure you think of the loved things.

i am 12 and love this song so much it reminds me ove the lord and every time I hear it,it puts a smile on my face it reminds me that i could die young any day so just face life and have fun

i just lost my 6 year old niece, Sarah Brazzell, and this song just really hits home…… she was too too young. But the angels sang and our lord welcomed her home… R.I.P my love

Last month we had 6 teens commit suede and last year was bad for me and I though about it too but I didn’t this song makes me think how lucky I am that I didn’t and makes me cry every time I hear it but at the same time it has to be my fave

The lyrics of the song: If I die young,is so so powerful. Truly, my soul connects to the words. My brother lost his son at a very young age. He was two weeks of being two years old. My brother found him at the bottom of his pool. The lyrics: “a short life,had just enough time: very well fills my heart. I love my brother so much, it hurts deep to see his pain.
