We Are Scientists - Brain Thrust Mastery Album Review

Brain Thrust Mastery by We Are Scientists, Album Review

“Brain Thrust Mastery” is the second major label album by We Are Scientists, due to be released in the UK on March 17, 2008.

A thrilling album of upfront indie rock classics, sprinkled with a wry sense of humor, this record is sure to cement the band’s reputation as one of the most exciting acts around.

The first single from the album is “After Hours“, which is currently on UK radio and the band’s MySpace.
The song was selected as Jo Whiley’s “Pet Sound” on BBC Radio 1 for the week beginning January 28, 2008, and then as Edith Bowman’s “Top Rated” on February 11, 2008.

We Are Scientists - Brain Thrust Mastery Editorial Review from amazon.com

Product Description
We Are Scientists shocked themselves and impressed many others with their 2005 debut ‘With Love & Squalor’, which went gold in the UK (145,000 units) on the strength of the already-classic singles ‘The Great Escape’, ‘Nobody Move Nobody Get Hurt’ and ‘It’s A Hit’. Twenty months of near-constant touring culminated in a sold-out UK tour, including two nights at Brixton Academy in autumn 2006, plus a very pleasant Christmas.
The band spent 2007 at weight-loss camps, alcoholics’ dry-out facilities, and a race car school, yet also found time to pen, record and road-test their sophomore offering ‘Brain Thrust Mastery’. If WAS’s first album had been far, far better than it was, and of a far more mature style, and if they had then released a limp, unenjoyable second record, and if ‘Brain Thrust Mastery were actually their third album, it would be hailed as a “return to form”, as “equal to - in many ways an improvement on - the monumental debut”.
