What About Now was recorded by Irish boyband Westlife for their upcoming tenth album, “Where We Are”. The producer for the track is Steve Robson.
The song will be released as the lead single from the new album on October 25 for download and October 26 as a physical single. It will be performed live on The X Factor Results Show on it’s initial release day.
“What About Now” was written by Ben Moody, David Hodges and was originally released by American rock band Daughtry in the U.S. on July 1, 2008 as their seventh single from their eponymous debut album. (Here is the original version of What About Now by Daughtry.)

Is it just me or is anyone else fed-up to the back teeth of Westlife making a living from other music artists records!!!
This song was release by Daughtry not too long ago & now Westlife are releasing their version of it, what a flamin cheek!!!
When are they actually going to wrie their own records & stop making money of others backs!!!!

actually westlifes version is brilliant and so what if they are copying daughtry lots of people are copying use somebody by kings of leon and nobody cares leave westlife alone they are fantastic singers and im sure lots of people still like them

TBH They have ruined the song which is orignally Daughtry’s and Their Version sucks.
Yh i will admit they are good singers but they do need to get off their own lazy arses and make their own music

The song is great and it’s truth they do lots of covers but they don’t have to prove anything, their first 3 records had more than 15 tracks, all good, 10 records more than n’sync and bsb, they still alive and people like them and they have guiness records for more singles on 1st place on a role… course we would like better songs written by them.. but what if they do covers? as long as they do it right

I think their version is better. Daughtry’s version a li’l bit rock in it, but they have more pop rock version. Make it more easy listening

Oh for goodness sake! true Westlife fans already know that the group write a lot of their own material. Yes they do covers, but so do many other singers/groups. How come only Westlife get slated for it? I think this version is the better mainly because the lads put more feeling into the words and I’m loving their new rock look as well. When it comes down to it they are an extremely succesful group, and have been for 11yrs now. Must be doing something right mustn’t they? For all you detractors out there, I suggest you go see one of their shows. Perhaps then you’ll realise then they have more than looks and voices going for them, and not a mime in sight!

To those who hate westlife for covering so many songs..you better shut up!!!! A lot of their covers were chosen by simon cowell for them to sing. They are not the one who are choosing the songs..and who cares if they do a lot of covers???? And anyone can sing a song if they are given the right…are you people the writers of the song????!!!!! Simon will not instruct westlife to sing covers if they will just ruin it..everyone knows how simon can… criticise…after 11 years,,and over 45 million records sold worldwide, doing covers is not really a big deal!!! If you don’t like their version, then don’t bother!!!! I’m a westlife fan since 1991999 and I know how it feels for other wl fans …..just sharing my love for them

I am a westlife fan, and this song is as good as the original’s and tbh not much difference between the two. Why do people slate Westlife for doing covers. Surely, you should be slating the original artists for allowing it to happen. As it is solely their decision, if they say no, then Westlife wouldn’t be able to cover it, so the original artists are saying yes, to make some easy money, and not have to do anything

i agree with all the other comments by westlife fans … maybe you doubters should see westlife sing live sometime then im sure you will come away with a lasting experience AND that they actually sound just as great live with no special effects as they do on a cd . ive been to so many concerts ive lost count and i can honestly say every concert was great .. westlife fans all know that they are the best and nothing anyone can say will ever change a true westlife fans mind ….AND WHO CARES HOW MANY COVERS THEY DO AS LONG AS THEY SING FOR US ..long may they rule the charts

hi, well my firend maria is addicted to westilife and i have never been a big fan, but when this song came out i got addicted. westlife sing soo pure and thats why we all love them.their songs actually mean something unlike all the rubbish like the ”modern” music like clubland and rap.westlife keep on goin ,you have soo many followers who are all right behind you!who cares if its a cover up look at how many other people do cover ups even robbie does them.

Get your hearing tested!can’t you listen and know the song is better than the original?thats why they were invited 2 sing it on the x-factor & the whats-their-name werent!just if you dnt know,westlife were contacted by the same director because of the passion they express.
